FOUNDLINGS, 4 - 7 YEAR OLDS

The Foundlings program at Madras Martial Arts is designed specifically for young martial artists, ages 4 to 7, who are beginning their journey in martial arts. This foundational program introduces children to the basics of martial arts training while instilling core values such as honesty, integrity, focus, and discipline. Through age-appropriate exercises and engaging activities, students develop essential motor skills, improve their focus, and learn how to work respectfully with peers. For children as young as 3, evaluations are available to determine readiness for the program, ensuring every student begins their training at the right level.

As part of their martial arts journey, students progress through basic-level belts, gaining a sense of achievement and building their confidence along the way. Each belt represents not only their growing martial arts skills but also the life lessons they’ve embraced, such as perseverance and self-control. As children mature and develop their abilities, 7-year-olds who are ready can be evaluated and transitioned into the next level program, The Warrior Path, where they’ll continue to build on the solid foundation laid in The Foundlings.

At Madras Martial Arts, all programs, including The Foundlings, are designed and currently led by Grandmaster Instructor Josh Sardam, a highly experienced teacher dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive environment for every student.
